II.2.4) Description of the procurement

On behalf of England’s Connected Heartland 5G Innovation Region (ECH 5GIR), Oxfordshire County Council (OCC) will procure a Framework contract for a single Supplier to install and operate 5G mobile private network managed services for Science and Innovation Campuses in the ECH region.

The procurement will evaluate tenders based on the specification for a scenario deployment for the Harwell Science and Innovation Campus, with the possibility to extend the network to further locations during the term.

The network will underpin a wide array of applications, from supporting advanced manufacturing and health applications, and outdoor mobile connectivity as campus users move between buildings, real-time information services to support the advanced scientific and technological needs of the campuses, and smart construction management.

The Framework will have a duration of 4 years. Call-Off's from the Framework are anticipated to have a duration of 7 years

Optional extensions to Call-Offs are available up to a maximum of 7 years in aggregate

Optional Extensions will be of a minimum of 1yr duration

Justification for any framework agreement duration exceeding 4 years: The framework has an initial period of 4 years call-offs from the framework are envisaged to have an estimated duration of 7 years extensions to a call-off will be made in 1 year increments subject to an aggregate maximum of 7 years.
