Abstract

Natur am Byth is Wales’ flagship Green Recovery project. It unites nine environmental charities with Natural Resources Wales (NRW) to deliver the country’s largest natural heritage and outreach programme to save species from extinction and to reconnect people to nature. Natur Am Byth will lead the way to nature recovery by showing how all the people of Wales and our most endangered and threatened wildlife can flourish together through delivering an ambitious programme of conservation management and inclusive outreach activity at both landscape and seascape scale, nationally and locally, across Wales. A successful delivery stage application to the NLHF was awarded to the partnership in June 2023, thus allowing the partnership to move on to the current ‘Delivery Phase’ which will continue until August 2027. Implementation of conservation grazing activity and training is a critical theme of the programme, with a number of key sites and species reliant on improvements to grazing practices and increased awareness of key stakeholders. Six of the ten partners in Natur am Byth are specifically focusing on grazing as a conservation management tool, namely: Bumblebee Conservation Trust (lead) Butterfly Conservation Buglife RSPB NRW Plantlife Bumblebee Conservation Trust are the procurement lead for this contract, with selection and appointment the shared responsibility of a contract management commitment comprised of staff from the six partners list above. Some points of clarification
Firstly, please note that we have extended the submission deadline by a week to midday on Monday 24th June.

In addition, a potential supplier called me to ask some questions - here are the points of clarification I gave:
1. The named sites may be flexible - i.e. some of the sites could change. We have not made significant changes to that aspect of the ITQ since the development phase, and we recognise that some situations may have changed.
2. The primary role of the consultant would be to provide advice, rather than any significant role in implementation. That may include working with graziers and tenant farmers as well, if that is the approach that the landowner or land manager wishes to take.
3. Regarding contract output 2 (advice on events and training) I clarified that we would be looking for advice on the most relevant types of training and events to run in project areas, and how we tailor the events and training to our target audiences.
13/06/2024 16:49
ITQ Section 3 'Geographic Scope of Contract'
Following a query from a potential supplier I can share a point of clarification regarding the 'Contract time allocation' (number of days) section in the table in Section 3 of the ITQ.
The day allocation covers all contract time advising on the site including site visits, desk based work, and meetings.

We have indicated in the ITQ that the maximum (NET) budget figure is £37,000 exclusive of VAT. Please note, however, that we are asking for you to provide us with costings inclusive of VAT.

Many thanks
Sinead

Query on flexibility of timescales within ITQ
Dear all,

We have received another query for clarification on the flexibility of the timescales set out in the ITQ, specifically the deadline for visiting all project sites by end of September 2024.

Obviously a slip in timescales is less ideal but we acknowledge we may need to accommodate some flexibility, and you can reflect this in your submission.

Thanks
Sinead
