Abstract

The DNE (Defence Nuclear Enterprise) Skills Transformation Programme includes the Inspire and Attraction team who has responsibility for exciting the next generation of the future workforce. To achieve this ambition, we will be engaging with educational establishments across the UK and devolved administrations, which will include schools, colleges, and universities. Having a positive intervention with young people will help them to think more positively about potential career choices in the nuclear sector.

The Ministry of Defence (MoD) are looking to engage the services of a minimum of 2 Delivery Partners that will enable the DNE to collaborate specifically with schools and minority groups in designated regions across England and Scotland.

The aim of this activity is to extend our reach to this target audience to promote STEM events and enable the target audience to better understand the opportunities available to them as a career choice. The focus will be aimed at young people from aged 8-14 years old (school years 3 – 9).

Delivery of this project in schools will commence from September 2024 through to July 2025. Each Delivery Partner should offer either full or half day STEM activities to cater for the individual needs of the Primary and Secondary Schools and should focus on supporting schools with little engagement in STEM.
