Sustainable management of marine natural resources in Wales: Initial Research

Description of the goods or services required

The Welsh Government wishes to commission a contractor to deliver work under the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund (EMFF) project ‘Sustainable management of marine natural resources’. This contract will focus on the sourcing, consolidation and standardization of existing environmental evidence, and on identifying knowledge gaps, primarily in relation to tidal stream energy, wave energy and aquaculture. The outputs of the contract will provide information on evidence needs to support the sustainable management of marine natural resources. In particular the contract will support implementation and use of the Welsh National Marine Plan. Formal consultation on the draft WNMP is expected to commence at the end of 2017.

Total quantity or scope of tender

A budget range of £90,000 - £100,000 excluding VAT will be made available by the Client for the purposes of this contract. However, tenderers should be aware that this budget information is for indicative purposes only and that the client will be seeking to award the contract on the basis of the criteria stated in the specification document and best overall value.
