Title
Centre For Alternative Technology (CAT ) BMS Upgrade

Description of the goods or services required
The contract covers the upgrade of a BMS system controlling the heating services to a building incorporating 24 bedrooms, lecture spaces and offices. The existing system is by Trend and uses IQ2 controller across 32 outstations and many of these have failed. Bids are required for the the upgrade of this system to restore reliability and control and to allow for future expansion. To this end indicative costs are also required for planned future phases of work to accommodate an additional building suite, a biomass district heating system and back up LPG boiler currently all currently controlled by a REX control system via WAGO plc controllers.

Total quantity or scope of tender
The BMS system upgrade is required to:
1) provide heating and DHW control for a complex of 24 bedrooms, a suite of lecture rooms and offices, a café and a group of outlying offices and gave the expandability to accommodate at two new planned accommodation blocks.
2) Integrate a solar thermal array and back up LPG boiler.
3) Supply energy flow data for the principle building elements.
4) Provide a web based control interface
5) Be supported by general operational training and basic system maintenance training for a suitable candidate.
6) Have the expansion capacity to accommodate: the site café, an existing group of outlying offices, the control of 200kw HDG district heating system and have the expandability to accommodate at up to two new planned accommodation blocks.
