Description of the goods or services required
This innovative hub is the outcome of a strategic partnership between the University of Wales Trinity Saint David and the Swansea Bay City Deal, a £1.3 billion investment portfolio supported by the UK Government, the Welsh Government, the public sector, and the private sector. Over its anticipated 15-year lifespan, the City Deal aims to inject at least £1.8 billion into the regional economy and generate over 9,000 jobs.
The Innovation Matrix, currently under construction, is located in the heart of UWTSD's SA1 Innovation Quarter, offers a prime digital innovation ecosystem in Swansea. Positioned within the historic Docklands area, it boasts breath-taking views of Swansea Bay and the northern hills. The location is conveniently a short 15-minute stroll from the city centre, with train and bus stations just 20 minutes away. Easy access to the M4 motorway, the stunning Gower Peninsula, and its magnificent beaches are within reach. In addition, a range of amenities, including private apartments, restaurants, supermarkets, pharmacies, hotels, and leisure facilities, are available in the Quarter.
The University of Wales Trinity Saint David invites visionary café operators to be an integral part of Innovation Matrix. Anticipated for completion by June 2024, the café, strategically positioned on the ground floor, is not just a culinary establishment but an essential element of the visitor experience.
We envision the café as more than a culinary haven; it should be a welcoming space offering high-quality products with a strong emphasis on local sourcing. The operator will play a pivotal role in creating an atmosphere that complements the innovative spirit of the Matrix. The success of this venture hinges on a strong partnership, with shared values and operational alignment between the café operator and the Innovation Matrix team.
To explore this unique opportunity, the University is hosting an exclusive event on the site. This event, scheduled for November 30, 2023, from 10 am to 12 pm at the Fforwm Swansea, will not only present the vision for Innovation Matrix but also provide an opportunity to tour the site and its surroundings. This event serves as a platform for potential operators to engage directly with the project and assess the immense potential it holds.
For those eager to embark on this journey and be part of Innovation Matrix, please RSVP by contacting Mickiela Chesters, Procurement Officer, at mickiela.chesters@uwtsd.ac.uk
