Description of the goods or services required
Wrexham University’s Civic Mission Partnership Strategy aims to work with partners across North Wales to tackle the collective challenge of ending social inequality. As part of this, the university has secured funding to pilot the North Wales Children’s University project.
Working with one school per county (6 counties across North Wales), the project aims to produce and deliver up to 150 wellbeing Food boxes per school which will include the ingredients and recipes for three meals for a family of four, with an emphasis on healthy, non processed and locally sourced food. Wrexham University will work closely with the chosen provider(s) to ensure the boxes include additional wellbeing elements such as creative workbooks and activities which will be procured separately but will need factoring into the overall design of the boxes.
We are looking potentially for up to TWO providers – one to cover the Wrexham, Flintshire and Conwy counties and one to cover Ynys Mon, Gwynedd and Denbighshire. Alternatively, we will consider ONE provider to cover all 6 Counties within North Wales.
Devising three healthy recipes using local produce wherever possible (for up to 150 boxes per county)
Sourcing the ingredients, producing the recipes and making up the boxes, working with the Wrexham University team to ensure any additional elements are included.
The actual food boxes that contain the actual ingredients, recipes etc will be sourced and provided by Wrexham University, and any additional creative items will also be provided by Wrexham University and/or our partners and free issued in advance to the selected providers.
The 900 Wellbeing Food Boxes must be supplied and delivered by the end of January/early February to meet the funding criteria for this work. Delivering the food boxes to the selected schools or home delivery where needed.
