Abstract

Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust as part of their acute services rationalisation works is looking to undertake a major upgrade of its existing six (6) theatres including the immediate support accommodation areas together with a reconfiguration of its endoscopy department. With regards to the theatre element, the works will be phased with the first four theatres refurbished, commissioned and handed over prior to undertaking the remaining two theatres. The theatre works will involve part replacement of the existing roof covering and the subsequent provision of new plant to serve the theatres upgrade works. The works in the endoscopy department will involve a major strip out of the same and the subsequent fit-out of a new department incorporating treatment/consult/exam rooms. The works will be undertaken in a live hospital environment where the adjacent clinical and administration services will continue to function.
