Abstract
The Council is currently considering the options for the future of the all 4 centres and its leisure management contract following expiry of the existing agreement at the end of 2020. They would like to understand the potential interest from leisure operators in the opportunity.
Currently, the Council’s aspirations for the centres are as follows:
— Bourne Leisure Centre: refurbishment and extension to incorporate an expanded health and fitness gym (circa 75 stations), 2 studios, enhanced café and reception and improved changing facilities,
— Stamford Leisure Centre: refurbishment or new build facility on existing site to incorporate, as a minimum, main swimming pool, teaching pool, health and fitness gym and studios and café,
— Deepings Leisure Centre: new build wet, dry and outdoor facility on a new site close to the existing centre. The new centre will potentially include accommodation for Deepings RUFC,
— Grantham Meres Leisure Centre: new wet, dry and outdoor centre on the existing site or alternative location.
The Council is currently undertaking feasibility studies and outline business cases for all four centres so that they have a clear picture of what is required at each, the cost of the improvements, the future revenue position and overall affordability.
Please be aware that responses are required by 1st November at 12.00 noon.
