Description of the goods or services required
The Future Generations Commissioner of Wales (FGC) is seeking proposals to assist with the development of the second Future Generations Leadership Accelerator.
In 2021, FGC worked with Foundations for Tomorrow and the Unlock the Future Coalition convened by the United Nations to develop an online rapid-fire and easy to access learning programme to empower emerging leaders (15-35 years old) as proactive and productive advocates for future generations.
The outcomes of the initial programme included establishing a baseline literacy surrounding future generations governance, inclusive of historical context, key terminology and core concepts; a deepened awareness of the existing future generations initiatives on the global landscape; and Increasing engagement and empowering action and appetite to advance future generations initiatives. The programme consisted of two-hours per week content – animated videos, presenter explainer videos, PDF deep dives, case studies and weekly cohort dialogue.
The Accelerator garnered registrations from more than 600 emerging leaders, spanning 80+ countries from all around the globe with a majority of participants representing the Global South.
We are now looking to build on the success of this programme. We would like the successful consultancy to continue supporting young people; and additionally, to support policymakers and civil servants who are looking to implement future generations thinking within local and national governments.
The deliverables for this assignment will include:
• Develop a resource to mobilise global youth champions for future generations.
o Develop a specific Welsh module to the resource to educate and inspire young people in Wales on the implementation of the Well-being of Future Generations Act (Wales) 2015 and its global impact – (drawing on learning of Wales as a globally responsible nation).
o Convene a global youth roundtable with participants who have utilised the resource
• Co-design an international resource for policymakers and civil servants to implement future generations thinking and governance arrangements.
• Produce an Evaluation Report
