Asset Skills, the Sector Skills Council for property, housing, facilities management, cleaning and parking is working with the Welsh Government as part of its Sector Priorities Fund Pilot (SPFP) Project to deliver new apprenticeships and qualifications across Wales.
Asset Skills has already successfully delivered one SPFP project and aims to build on that achievement by piloting more newly developed apprenticeships and vocational qualifications. Our aim is to build a sustainable network of providers which will become ‘Centres of Excellence’ specialising in Asset Skills sector in Wales.
The project aims to deliver Apprenticeships and Foundation Apprenticeships in facilities services, supported housing, energy advice, local taxation and benefits, pest control, parking and cleaning supervisory skills, along with introductory qualifications for energy efficiency and higher apprenticeships in FM.
More than 1,000 learner places will be provided through the project. The project will also include various events such as an ‘engagement event’ to introduce the project to employers and ‘induction workshops’ for employers and training providers involved in the delivery of the apprenticeships.
The project will involve employers and training providers in new and innovative ways of delivery, looking especially at potential employer/training partnerships which can become sustainable Centres of Excellence and through that be part of Asset Skills UK Academy, delivering qualifications in Asset Skills sector post project through mainstream funding.
For this project Asset Skills is seeking to engage Project Management Consultancy Services to:
• promote the project by engaging with employers and training providers
• procure the learning providers to deliver the qualifications
• manage events and induction workshops to employers and training providers
• manage the training providers and any partners
• monitor the training delivery
• monitor and evaluate the project.
Project delivery can commence immediately Asset Skills has signed the contract with WG which is expected in the next few weeks and so anticipated start date for the project consultancy services is October 8, 2012.
