The Authority is seeking to procure a long term operator of the Whitley Bay Playhouse The preferred Tenderer will operate the Whitley Bay Playhouse on a concession basis.
The Whitley Bay Playhouse is situated at Marine Avenue, Whitley Bay, Tyne and Wear. The Playhouse is a 638-seat single auditorium theatre which underwent redevelopment in 2008 to bring the sound, lighting, seating and customer experience up to modern standards. The site has been the basis for a theatre in the town for over 100 years and continues to be integral to the cultural and tourism offer of the area.
