This disposal to include all lagging also attached to pipework that supplies re-heaters to the ductwork. Once this work has been completed new panels and lagging to be lifted into position and attached to all of the ductwork and pipework. Finally, there is a requirement for all of the above to be covered in aluminium sections to provide long term protection from the elements and birds. The initial contract is offered for a contract period determined by the timeframe of completion of the project but with an absolute cutoff date for completion of Friday 21st February 2025. 1.1 Project Goals and Objectives The objective of this project is to safely remove and dispose of all the damaged lagging currently attached to the ductwork on the Sherman Theatre external roof areas and to replace all lagging as new and protect with aluminium panelling. Key Objectives are for : Clean up of roof space and removal of all damaged/ compromised lagging. Renewal of all ductwork and pipework lagging and long term protection with aluminium panelling. Currently the entire insulation of the air handling system to the 2 main theatre spaces is critically compromised by the degradation and continual tearing way of all insulation to the ductwork due to time and weather impact but also to continuous damage caused by seagulls, attracted to the insulation which is currently not protected by aluminium panelling. Not only does this degradation critically compromise the efficiency and operation of the air handling system but the mess caused on the roof spaces is having an impact on drainage channels and making the building more susceptible to leaks and flooding issues. The aim of the project is to clean up the roof space and minimise these issues moving forward and to renew and protect the ductwork long term – improving the overall customer experience in the 2 main theatre spaces and also enhancing the buildings environmental sustainability and improving energy efficiency.

Total quantity or scope of tender

The scope of works sought via this ITT are for a one off project from inception to completion to completely remove all the current damaged and compromised lagging to the ductwork and pipework on the Sherman Theatre external Roof areas (specifically roof spaces 1 and 8 – see satellite view contained in appendices) and to completely renew and replace all removed lagging with new appropriate and suitable materials which are to be protected long term by covering in aluminium sections.

Sherman Cymru would like all tendering companies to detail the full extent of the services they can offer as well as evidence of their expertise and experience in completing similar projects.

Plans of the layout of the roof spaces and images of the areas concerned are included with this tender (see appendices) but contractors are advised that in order to fully measure the scope and extent of the ductwork and pipework involved that they will need to make their own visit to the site to measure up for costing purposes.

As above the scale of the project is determined by the extent of the ductwork and pipework that will have their lagging removed and replaced but the measurement of this will need to be carried out by a specialist representative of the contractor.

It is for the contractor to specify within their tender the proposed timescale for the completion of these activities.
