II.2.4) Description of the procurement
9.1 The work to be carried out is located at our sheltered housing complex, Victoria court, Abergavenny, Monmouthshire NP7 5PW, please see a detailed performance specification in “Appendix A, Victoria Court CHP Performance specification”
9.2 Victoria court is currently heated by a communal heating system that comes under the district heat network regulation. The existing boilers in the main building have come to the end of their life and Melin homes are replacing them with new boilers and a micro generation combined heat and power unit. As a part of this works Melin Homes are upgrading the heating and hot water distribution systems to make compliant with the district heat and network regulations.
9.3 It is compulsory that a site visit is to be carried out. Site visit will be for 1 week only W/C 29/04/2019.

Melin Homes Sustainable Communities Fund
12.1 It is Melin Homes' responsibility to deliver and report on Welsh procurement, supply-chain opportunities, resource and waste, targeted recruitment and training (TR&T) and community donations, to enable us to monitor our economic and environmental impact in Wales. Therefore, activities will support this based on the minimum guidelines of 0.5% of the contract value will be payable by the contractor/supplier. Invoicing for the Sustainable Communities Fund sum will be subject to VAT and invoices raised at time agreed at purchase/pre contract.
