Abstract

The Port Authority Jetty (also known as the Pilot Jetty) is a critical asset to Milford Haven Port Authority, harbouring the fleet of vessels which provide pilotage services for the Port Authority’s operations. A wave screen is fixed to the outer face of the jetty head and provides shelter to the vessels berthed against the jetty. The existing wave screen and handrailing on the jetty is in poor condition and is in need of replacement. The scope of this contract is to replace the existing wave screen with new steel sheet piles, ladders and fenders on the southern and western faces of the jetty, to replace the existing handrailing and install additional vehicle impact protection on the jetty head. It is anticipated that the construction works will require the use of floating marine plant. The estimated value of the contract is expected to be £1.0m to 1.2million. The Invitation to Tender will be issued end of May 2021 and Contract Award in July 2021. The anticipated construction completion date is November 2021.
