Abstract

The NHS Shared Services Partnership hosted by Velindre are acting on behalf of the NHS Welsh Health Collaborative to procure a pilot scheme that has the potential to assist in redefining stroke and stroke mimic pathways. This could result in drastic improvement in stroke patient care from pre-hospital through to treatment and life beyond. Consequentially, this will prove to have significant savings to the NHS, relieve pressure on the interlinked departments and help improve staff attrition. The awarded company is the only supplier within the UK market at present that has the ability to provide a revolutionary multi-faceted service which. Using secure, advanced multi-stream video technology, expert specialists from anywhere in the region can connect with paramedics to undertake virtual triage and assessment aided by connectivity to video, device and data feeds displayed in a single screen user interface. The system can also provide connectivity to bedside telemedicine carts can enable further diagnostics or AI solutions to be connected for more detailed assessment needs. This is a time specific driven piece of work. Their service enables a video link between paramedics and consultants for a clinical level consultation in pre-hospital environments, high-resolution displays which can be adapted and optimised for diagnostic quality, and can connect across the whole stroke pathway at any time, amongst other critical requirements for this service. Visionable gives remote on call clinicians faster access to and sharing of advanced radiological interventions, along with the ability to implement new imaging workflows and integrate AI with telemedicine delivery. Explanation:

The Visionable platform provides a unique level of collaboration capability that has been developed in response to the specific needs of stroke telemedicine, enabling the stroke telemedicine pathway to be run from anywhere 24/7 with minimal training. Training and education from experts that have proven experience in delivering this type of service are on hand to help establish, embed and deliver the service with clinical stakeholders. It supports a limited expert workforce with the capability to deliver service at scale without compromising standards of care. Further, the company supports connectivity within rural locations allowing for consistency of service in the most-hard to reach areas of Wales. They are the only supplier on the market at present that can provide this service to the specific standard set out by the Trust.
