To fulfil its vision and mission the Life Sciences Hub Wales regularly undertakes horizon scanning activity intended to identify new and upcoming innovation in the life sciences and medical technology sectors, the intention being to locate solutions that can be further developed, trialled and adopted in Wales. To enable this activity the Life Sciences Hub Wales requires access to a Market Sector Database that will enable business intelligence research and identification of companies within relevant sectors with whom to engage and collaborate in our role.

Life Sciences Hub Wales wishes to procure access to an up-to-date and continually updated Market Sector Database to assist in the horizon scanning for emerging life science and medical technology solutions which can be further developed, trialled and adopted in Wales.

The intention is to procure a global database that ensures that data related to Wales is granular enough for us to use the database as a Welsh industry search when required.

Minimum standards and qualification required

Information Security

Confirm whether your organisation has IASME Cyber Essentials (or an equivalent) Information Security accreditation in place, or if not, will have accreditation in place by the date of contract award.

The dataset must include coverage of the following sectors, as minimum:

Welsh companies;

Life Sciences (general);

Biotechnology;

Medical technology;

Medical devices;

Pharmaceuticals; and

Digital solutions.

Additional Information

A live demonstration of your Market Sector Database is required in order to demonstrate the functionality available and how it meets the Life Sciences Hub Wales requirements. Demonstrations will be held virtually. Life Sciences Hub Wales currently utilises Microsoft Teams for virtual meetings/conferences, so this would be the preference for the Demonstrations.

Only shortlisted Suppliers will be invited to provide a Demonstration to Life Sciences Hub Wales. The top 3 scoring Suppliers following an initial evaluation will be considered the shortlisted Suppliers and will be invited to provide a Demonstration to Life Sciences Hub Wales.

Demonstrations are to be held w/c 24 August.
