Abstract

MVH is seeking to appoint up to two suitably qualified and experienced providers to undertake a planned programme of EPC stock assessments to properties throughout Merthyr Tydfil. MVH has an immediate requirement for c1,800 EPCs to be completed in advance of December 31st 2019, and as such intend to contract with two partners (c900 EPCs per partner) to ensure that this deadline is met. Beyond the initial requirement for the 2019 calendar year, it is likely that a further c1,800 assessments (c900 EPCs per partner) will be required throughout 2020, in addition to ad-hoc requirements thereafter. It is the intention of MVH to appoint contracts for a period of up to five years so that contracted partners are in place to deliver all EPC requirements during this time. MVH reserves the right to appoint a single partner if, after discussion and further non-scored assessment, it is deemed that they can fulfil the whole requirement. Merthyr Valleys Homes has received the following query:
“just wanted to confirm further to previous questions that the Professional indemnity is required at a level of £1,000,000, our insurers are querying this for the requirement of EPC`s it would double our premium?
Answer: Please note it is a minimum requirement of Merthyr Valleys Homes for all providers to carry a minimum of £1 million for Professional Indemnity Liability.
