Abstract

The Centre for Automotive & Power System Engineering (CAPSE) based within the Faculty of Computing, Engineering & Science is a nationally recognised independent research, development, test and certification house with a reputation for cutting edge research and knowledge transfer activities within the advanced automotive and power systems engineering sectors. The University of South Wales seeks an organisation to help it expand its current research and development activity. Mission SESS is a collaborative innovation and R&D operation, giving large, medium and small enterprises within the WWV region access to leading academic knowledge and research facilities. It will be demand led by the companies, researching and piloting new innovative technologies, products and processes, specifically in electrical energy storage, with strong post operation commercial potential for the enterprises. SESS will address the need to drive research activity and innovation within industry in Wales, to maximise the contribution of Welsh businesses to future economic growth. SESS will demonstrate SMART specialisation and capitalise on existing University strengths (via the Centre for Automotive & Power Systems Engineering - CAPSE), developing high quality research and innovation capability leading to increased/improved productivity and economic growth. It will provide companies with access to state-of-the-art research facilities combined with academic expertise to facilitate the development of new products and processes and increased market share. The University of South Wales, SESS (Sustainable Energy Storage Solutions) Hub requires 14 high-energy, Lithium-ion battery modules as per the requirements below. The equipment is to be used in conjunction with the SESS research projects, where over the coming 2 years we aim to develop a wide range of new innovative energy storage designs with automotive, aerospace, stationary and portable power applications. • Manufacture, assemble and deliver 14 Lithium-ion battery modules You will need to review the output-based requirements and propose a solution.
