About CARAD
CARAD (Community Arts Rhayader and District) is an inclusive community arts and heritage charity which works for the benefit of the people of Mid Wales. We provide a creative hub which nurtures and showcases the area’s rich social and cultural heritage and which celebrates our rural area and its natural history.
We seek to create a culturally vibrant and resilient community.
We host regular arts, wellbeing and heritage events, giving a platform to local creatives, contributing to the cultural offering in Mid Wales and improving the wellbeing of local people.
We have also created and manage an all-weather visitor attraction – TimeScape Rhayader. TimeScape has recently opened to the public and explores the area’s fascinating stories from past and present.
About the role
CARAD have been awarded funding from Powys County Council to deliver a project to boost their resilience as an organisation. This role will develop and deliver a marketing strategy for CARAD and their new visitor attraction, TimeScape Rhayader.
Responsibilities
- To review marketing suggestions included in the business plan developed by creative consultants Addo and others and develop a robust marketing plan for 2024-2026, for CARAD activities and TimeScape Rhayader
- To action the marketing plan, across relevant third party websites, social media, newsletters and our websites.
-To ensure that aspects of the plan (eg website deadline information and instructions,) are deliverable by volunteers or staff in 2025.
- To cross-promote activities with other local arts organisations, as well as regional festivals and arts weekends.
- To develop a cross-marketing resource with cultural heritage and arts organisations along the A44 and A470.
Deliverables
- Create and action a marketing plan for CARAD and TimeScape Rhayader
- To develop a cross-marketing resource with local cultural heritage organisations in collaboration with a graphic designer and Arts Officer to build the profile of Rhayader and Mid Wales more widely
- Improve engagement across CARAD’s social media platforms
- Create a report / reports to the line manager on your progress
Requirements
- Prior experience in marketing organisations who offer activities and events.
- Experience in managing a range of social media platforms
- Excellent attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and consistency in all
communications
- Proven ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working with small charities with limited resources, and in small teams.
-Demonstrate good communication skills whilst working with a range of people.
- Experience with project management, including managing deadlines, coordinating tasks and ensuring smooth communication
- Experience of creating marketing materials with multiple stakeholders
