25/06/2024 13:16	Question Question - The specification notes the below: • 4kw of panels • 3.68 inverter • Remain under the G99 limit • Battery of 10kw • Charge and discharge of 7kw. Unfortunately, this spec is not possible for several reasons, and it might be worth contacting Veridian with regards to future projects as I have seen this spec on more than one occasion. Here is the main point to note, and if yourselves or Veridian have any question about this please contact us and we will be happy to advise. • The spec notes a 3.68kw inverter but a charge and discharge rate of 7kw, a 3.68 inverter can only charge and discharge at 3.68kw, roughly half. To attain a 7kw of discharge you would either need a larger inverter (taking you over the G98 limit) or an additional AC charger (again taking you over the G98 limit). Either way a G99 application would be required which contradicts the tender. Most people work on the presumption that you can install a 3.68kw inverter and then an AC charger. This used to be the case but as of last year you must combine the total potential output of the inverter and the AC charger. Therefore a 3.68kw inverter with a 7kw AC would result in Scottish Power rating the system as 10.68kw. Answer - All of the tender documentation needs to considered for the tender. The specification provides an option for the Client to include for battery storage. On this tender the battery storage is not required and has not been include within the pricing document. With regards to the below query the 7kW discharge rate refers to ‘discharge capability’ to ensure that the selected battery is of a given minimum standard. (Battery is not required for this tender).
