In the first stage proposals are to be progressed from the equivalent of RIBA Workstage 1 through to Workstage 3; in the second they are to be progressed from Workstage 4 to 6. The scheme is concerned with historical significant ex-industrial buildings and landscape, with a mix of restoration, re-use and limited new build components.

Under the terms of this contract the successful supplier(s) will be required to deliver Community Benefits in support of the authority’s economic and social objectives. Accordingly, contract performance conditions may relate in particular to social and environmental considerations. The Community Benefits included in this contract are:
The Trust is keen to support the development of heritage skills in the North East Wales region, and so welcomes proposals that explain how such skills (including design as well as construction) will be fostered through this project. Information in this regard will count towards the evaluation of the respondents' understanding of the client's brief.
As a minimum the Trust expects proposals will show how the Design Team can:
Deliver talks to students aged 14-19 in at least two schools or colleges local to the Trust;
Provide two students from schools local to the Trust aged 14-16 with at least one week of work experience each before April 2019; and
Co-deliver at least one Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics activity with Primary School learners with the Trust.
Brymbo Heritage Trust also wishes to support our organisation’s understanding of the role of the Design Team in our project and so requires the Design Team to deliver at least two talks to our volunteers and members.
