Abstract

The North Wales Wildlife Trust’s (NWWT) Preventing Aliens Taking Hold (PATH) Project aims to survey and control Himalayan balsam (Impatiens glandulifera), Japanese knotweed (Fallopia japonica), American skunk cabbage (Lysichiton americanus) and Giant hogweed (Herculeum mantegazzianum) within the Afon Dyfrdwy (River Dee) catchment, working from Bala Lake, Gwynedd, downstream to Corwen, Denbighshire. PATH will compliment the annual management NWWT have performed on the Upper Dee over a decade. The PATH project wishes to appoint an organisation to control Himalayan balsam on the banks of the Afon Dyfrdwy (River Dee), working from Llyn Tegid downstream to Corwen Bridge, including the lower sections of the Afon Tryweryn, Afon Alwen, and Afon Camddwr.
