II.2.4) Description of the procurement
The Welsh Blood Service (WBS) and Public Health Wales (PHW) are implementing an all Wales high-throughput RHD non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT) service for foetal RHD typing. To fulfil this service requirement, we are asking the market for expressions of interest in the supply of a foetal RHD typing kit.
The proposed cell free DNA foetal RHD typing kit should have a high degree of sensitivity and specificityin addition to evidenced lot to lot equivalence and conformity. The Kit should only require a maximum of 2000µl of maternal plasma and must be validated for use on the Roche LightCycler 480 II or QuantStudio DX RT PCR platforms.
The Typing kit should be currently available on the market and must be CE marked. The kit manufacturer should have a commitment in place to apply for UKCA marking when required.
The contract duration will be for an initial period of three (3) years with the option to extend for up to 24 months maximum. The maximum duration being five (5) years in total.

We aim to hold pre-tender engagement with interested parties by means of either face to face session or virtually using MS Teams in January 2023 to discuss requirements to help shape the specification further.
