Description of the goods or services required

The form of Contract for this Scheme will be NEC4 Engineering and Construction Contract, Option A: Priced Contract with Activity Schedule, June 2017 including Amendments June 2023. Conditions of Contract are the core clauses for main Option A, dispute resolution Option W2 and secondary Options X2, X4, X5, X7, X8, X9, X13, X15, X16, Y(UK)2 and Z Clauses.

Total quantity or scope of tender

The work involves the development of the design for Solar PV’s on roofs to 10No Schools and 1No Outdoor Centre in the county of Conwy. The designs have been developed to RIBA Stage 3 and the Contractor is to develop those designs to RIBA Stage 4-5 and submit those designs for Client Approval and DNO submittal. The work involves the complete installation of the system including all associated builders work and fire stopping. All schools will be occupied throughout the period of the works. The Client reserves the right to add more sites to the contract, any changes in scope will be classed as a compensation event.

The following works are proposed but are not limited to:

• Develop RIBA Stage 3 Designs in accordance with MCS/ECA Guide to the Installation of

Photovoltaic Systems

• Undertake Pre-Refurbishment Asbestos Surveys or area covering scope of work and submit

findings to Project Manager for approval

• Check existing roof structure and engage with Structural Engineer and submit calculations

for roof loads to include for wind/snow loads

• Check fire integrity of roofing systems, roof structure, roof voids and ceilings and engage

with a Fire Consultant during the design stage and submit Contractor proposals to comply with Building Regulations.

Distribution Network Operator (DNO’s) applications to meet proposed system capacity.

• Installation of independent Metal Containment systems

• Installation of Solar Panels and associated infrastructure

• Installation of appropriate fire stopping

• Builders work in connection with

• Electrical testing and commissioning

• O & M Manuals

• Health & Safety File

Submission of a completed Tender submission within the deadline for return of tenders including the tender evaluation process. Compliance with all changes in information provided via Sell2wales Portal within the tendering period.
