ALYN WATERS CATERING LEASE AND BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY

This Invitation to Tender (“ITT”) is seeking suitable interested parties to tender for the opportunity to operate a Lease for Alyn Waters Café.

Alyn Waters Café is based on the Gwersyllt side of Alyn Waters Country Park. The café is located in the Alyn Waters Country Park Visitor Centre. The café is open 7 days per week providing snacks and lunches to the visitors at Alyn Waters Country Park. The visitor centre attracted 109,381 visitors in the year 1st April 2017- 31st March 2018.

The café has been managed for a number of years, by the work opportunities section of Wrexham County Borough Council, Adult Social Care Department, providing a service for visitors and supporting their clients. There is now an opportunity for a new provider to continue to develop and improve the café facility, extend the training courses, meetings and conferences business and develop the wellbeing and community participation aspects of the park.

The café is highly valued by the local community and citizens across Wrexham. It is known for its inclusive environment and providing work and volunteering opportunities for people with disabilities. It has a loyal customer base, friends of Alyn waters, attracts groups from the local area and further afield including walkers, cyclists and footballers.

Alyn Waters cafe is already is a fantastic example of a welcoming environment for disabled people, carers, older people, families and children and brings all parts of the community together. The Council is seeking a provider who will work with the parks team and other partners to build on this great base and make it a real flagship for community wellbeing.

Total quantity or scope of tender

Tenderers have the opportunity to bid for Lot 1, Lot 2 or both:-

Lot 1: Management of the Café, Toilet Facilities and Picnic Area

Management of the café and toilet facilities within the visitor centre and development and maintenance of picnic area around the centre. Litter picking and cleaning of picnic area outside space and visitor centre cafe and toilets. Operational management of the building (opening, closing and alarming of building).

Lot 2: Management of the Café, Toilet Facilities, Picnic Area AND Management of the Conference Facility

In addition to the management of the café, toilets, and development and maintenance of picnic area around the centre. Management of the conference facility This option would require 7 day cleaning and daily care of the visitor centre facilities, including all offices (2 offices) , meeting room, toilets, café and conference centre onsite. Litter picking and cleaning of picnic area outside space. Operational management of the building (opening, closing and alarming of building).

IT IS AT THE SOLE DISCRETION OF WREXHAM COUNTY BOROUGH COUNCIL WHETHER IT AWARDS A LEASE UNDER LOT 1 OR LOT 2. WREXHAM COUNTY BOROUGH COUNCIL’S DECISION IS FINAL IN THIS MATTER. TENDERERS ARE ABLE TO BID FOR ONE OR BOTH LOTS.

We will be awarding a Lease for the Alyn Waters Cafe for a period of 7 years.

Click on the PQQ/ITT code, you can now access any attachments by clicking the “Settings and Buyer Attachments” in the “Actions” box.

3. Responding to the tender.

You can now choose to “Reply” or “Reject” (please give a reason if rejecting);

You can now use the ‘Messages' function to communicate with the buyer and seek any clarification;
