Description of the contract
The Rhyl Town Council currently provides a festive illumination scheme each year for the Rhyl Town Centre. The Scheme operates from the last Saturday in November until the first week of January each year. A formal switch-on event is held to celebrate the commencement of the scheme following which the illuminations which are currently controlled by timers are operational between the hours of 4.00 p.m. – 12.00 a.m. each evening for the duration of the period.
The Town Council is currently seeking to replace the 56 of its street light column mounted illuminations and is now inviting expressions of interest from potential suppliers. The Council is likely to either wish to initially lease the illuminations with the option to purchase after the lease period expires or alternatively purchase outright.
It is intended that the illuminations will be stored between displays, and fitted/removed by the Denbighshire County Council Street Lighting Department who currently undertake similar for the Town Council.
It is intended that the illuminations supplied will be of a single type to facilitate relocation between columns if required.
Interested suppliers are invited to submit potential illumination designs to the Town Council specifying dimensions and available colour options together with price options for either purchase or Leasing. The Council would particularly be interested to receive details of any solar powered illuminations available.
Following the closing date the Council will assess submitted designs and select its preferred provider(s). It is therefore required that details of other locations where the submitted designs have been previously displayed are submitted as part of the submission.
Prior to a final decision being taken it is likely that a presentation will be required to be provided to the elected Members of the Council.
