Qualifications Wales has been established through the Qualifications Wales Act 2015 as the regulator of non-degree qualifications and the qualifications system in Wales. It is a Welsh Government Sponsored Body, independent of government, and is accountable to the National Assembly for Wales.
At the centre of our activities are the needs of Welsh learners, ensuring that:
qualifications are valid, reliable and of high quality, and comparable with equivalent qualifications in other jurisdictions;
prospects for progression are genuine; and
public and professional confidence is high.
Our key activities are centred on policy and research, monitoring and compliance, recognition of awarding bodes and approval of qualifications. These core actives are supported by a range of skilled professionals in IT, communications, finance, procurement, external relations, human resources and corporate governance
