Short description of the contract or purchase(s)
The National Botanic Garden of Wales (the Garden) has HLF and other funding to undertake the first (Development) stage of a project to restore a Regency water-park within the parkland of the Middleton estate. Much of the parkland is a National Nature Reserve (Waun Las NNR). The Garden is seeking pre-qualification submissions from multi-disciplinary design teams (Engineer or Landscape Architect led) to undertake surveys, investigations and design development for the restoration of an early 19th century water-park landscape. The consultancy contract will initially be for the design development through RIBA Stages 2 and 3. Subject to a successful Round 2 application to the HLF for further funding, the consultancy contract may be extended through the project Delivery Stage. The consultant design team will comprise the following disciplines:
- Engineers (civil, structural, geotechnical, hydrological, mechanical & electrical and a qualified Reservoir Panel engineer);
- Landscape Architect;
- Conservation Architect;
- Quantity Surveyor.
