Following the end of the hire period all marquees must be decommissioned and removed from all four sites.

II.2.4) Description of the procurement
NHS Wales Shared Services Procurement Services on behalf of the Cardiff and Vale University Health Board wish to inform the market they intend to award a contract for the Hire, Repair and Maintenance of five Marquees for a five month period with an option to extend six plus six months across four sites of the Health Board. The marquees provides a drive through Covid testing centre and havens for NHS staff's well-being the dimensions of the bespoke marquees are 12m x18, 6mx18m, 12mx24m and 9mx9m.
The testing centre structures have twin walled insulation, double skin PVC, covered ramp access, fire exits, solid flooring and interior linings. All structures are secured with tailored one tonne concrete and steel reinforced weights on every leg throughout.
Following the end of the hire period all marquees must be decommissioned and removed from all four sites.

The procurement falls outside the scope of application of the Directive
Explanation:
During the COVID pandemic a contract was awarded as an urgent requirement for the Hire of Marquees to provide a drive through COVID testing centre and staff havens to NHS staff. Due to winter pressures and continuity of Covid waves, it is necessary to ensure this facility remains. Due to the time it would take to dissemble and construct new marquees, it would negatively affect the testing service as well as staff receiving this service, it has been deemed necessary to award a new contract.

NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership on behalf of University Hospital of Wales Health Board will allow a minimum 10 calendar day standstill period between notifying the award decision and awarding the contract.
